Rural calm, colorful flower splendor and rich history meet you when you cycle along the winding small roads around Enköping. The tour allows you to experience both medieval churches, ancient stone monuments and well-composed park environments.
Gear down with three days of lazy cycling in the flat agricultural landscape around the small town of Enköping. The low-traffic roads take you to peaceful natural areas, cozy cafes and nice baths. Beautiful and breathtaking views meet you everywhere you look. Historical monuments from all eras are constantly present.
Both overnight stays on the tour take place at Jädra Gårdhotell, which means that packing for the day will be light. Jädra Gårdhotell is located a short and convenient cycling distance from Enköping. Dogs are welcome (booked in advance).
The first day's tour takes you to exciting runestones with thousand-year-old messages. There will also be an opportunity for a walk in the beautiful nature up on Äsåsen. Lunch is taken, for example, at the old Landsberga manor, where there is a café with a well-stocked farm shop.
The afternoon is devoted to the church in Härkeberga with imagination-provoking paintings by the prominent 15th-century artist Albertus Pictor. You can also visit several small and personal businesses, including a nursery and a dairy. In the evening, the "chef in the forest" awaits with a culinary dinner in nature. You will sleep well in a nice room and comfortable bed at Järdra Gårdshotel.
Enköping is known for its beautiful parks. Some you visit this day. The tour takes you further to the peculiar rock carvings of the Bronze Age in the Hemsta hagar nature area. The opportunity for a cooling bath is provided at the long, shallow sandy beach in Bredsand.
The day ends in Enköping with dinner at a nice restaurant. In the evening, a nice room and a comfortable bed await at Järdra Gårdshotell.
Along winding small roads you come to a Viking-era ford and the coronation road of the medieval kings, Eriksgatan. More rune stones and medieval churches are also on the program.
