You cycle and hike at your own pace and have a detailed map and directions with you. Cycling goes on low-traffic roads and nice paths along Ullångersfjärden. The hike goes along the seafront hiking trail World Heritage Trail with nice viewpoints and traditional fishing villages.
In Höga Kusten, the traces from the last ice age are clear everywhere in the landscape with, among other things, cordoned-off bays, kalottberg and clapper fields. The landscape of the High Coast is very hilly compared to other areas in Sweden, and the bicycle package therefore includes electric bicycles of really high quality. On these stable electric bikes, you cycle many miles without having to charge. However, the tours are no more strenuous than a normally trained person can handle. The evenings end with good dinners and overnight stays in a relaxing, genuine environment. The meals are largely locally produced with organic ingredients.
Arrival at Lappudden and check-in in your own cabin at Lappuddens Friluftscenter in the afternoon. Lappudden has an exciting history as an old Sami settlement and was until the beginning of the 1960s an agriculture, beautifully situated on a headland by Lake Vågsfjärden. The site has been an outdoor facility since the 1970s and has been run privately since 2008.
The morning starts with a delicious breakfast buffet. You pick up your bike, get lunch and coffee packages, maps and the information you need for today's bike ride. You cycle towards Nordingråvallen and on low-traffic roads and paths along Ullångersfjärden to Norrfällsviken, one of many traditional small fishing villages that have been transformed into a real tourist paradise.
Weather permitting, you can take a dip in the beautiful Storsand sea baths with white dunes, or just take a break and buy an ice cream in the picturesque harbor. You then cycle south back towards Lappudden. Along the way you pass the dramatic Omneberget. Here you can climb the top and do a short hike or maybe take a dip at Omnebadet. The tour takes you back to Lappudden where dinner and a hot wood-fired sauna await.
The day starts with a breakfast buffet and check-out from Lappudden. With a packed lunch, you cycle on to Pelle Åbergsgården's small quiet oasis which is an old artist's farm in the village of Björnås with connections to the nearby visitor destination Mannaminne. Once you have checked in, you have about 10 minutes by car to continue the day with hiking along the Väldsarvsleden (car transport can be arranged if needed). Today's stage begins at the fishing village Bönhamn with the beautiful blue path as an introduction. There is a fishing chapel, boathouses with a summer flea market and a café where you can enjoy a cup of coffee. You then walk further past a beautiful sandy beach towards the first summit hike up to Älgsjöberget with a magical view to the island Högbonden with its lighthouse and Ulvön out in the sea. The hike continues through Edsätterfjärden where there are several bathing spots and then up to the top of Själandsklinten with a rest cabin and magical views of villages, sea, forests and lakes. From the top you see Pelle Åbergsgården.
Once down from the mountain, dinner awaits at the popular restaurant Gårdsbutiken (White Guide). You can also buy local delicacies or gifts from their store. From the restaurant it is about 2 kilometers to Pelle Åbergsgården. If you want to have time to take a cooling shower at Pelle Åbergsgården before dinner, you can easily get to and from the restaurant on the connecting Björnåsleden. Then overnight stays in comfortable beds in Gårdshuset or Ateljéstugan.
In the morning, prepare yourself an organic breakfast, lunch and coffee at your own pace of ready-made ingredients. Breakfast can be enjoyed on one of the farm's patios or indoors. Then you will be transported by the host couple to the fishing village Barsta. Here is a unique fishing chapel, dated to the 17th century. You then continue the hike through Rotsidans nature reserve with a nice mix of forest and beach. You can stop for a nice lunch break and enjoy the packed lunch and the mighty view along the kilometer-long pebble beach. Maybe take a cooling dip if the weather allows. During the hike, you constantly hear the sea and see clear traces of the land uplift.
The trip continues to Fällsvikshamn towards Sörle. Just before Sörleviken you can take the afternoon coffee break and then walk along the road back to the village Björnås. Here you are met by mighty views over the mountain Ringkallen with its clapper fields and the beautiful agricultural landscape. The elongated Sörleviken will be transformed into a lake due to the ongoing land uplift, a powerful and tangible geological process.
After the tour, dinner awaits at Värdshuset Mannaminne where you can choose to hike directly, or after a cooling shower walk from the farm the short distance over the mountain. After dinner, you can enjoy cultural history created by the artist Anders Åberg whose father was Pelle Åberg. Do not miss to see Pelle Åbergsgården as a miniature at the agricultural museum at Mannaminne. At Mannaminne there is a steep path up on the mountain Stortorget with a classic, magnificent view of Trångsundet, a typical example of a cordoned-off bay in the tracks of the land uplift.
After breakfast you check out and leave Pelle Åbergsgården and the beautiful Höga Kusten with wonderful memories in your luggage. Transport to Lappuddens Friluftscenter can be arranged if needed.
