On the island of sun and wind, Öland, a world of adventure opens up for cyclists! The nature is not only strikingly beautiful but also full of history and local crafts. You can explore old fishing ports, charming farm shops and admire the open views that surround you. With carefully selected hotels and experiences, you can experience southern Öland's varied landscape by bike.

UNESCO has designated Öland as a World Heritage Site, with its unique limestone formations and special flora and fauna that sets it apart from the rest of Sweden. Here is everything from the barren Stora Alvaret to the fertile farmlands, the beach meadows that have been grazed since ancient times and the picturesque row villages that are unchanged over the years. This is a 5-day cycling package on southern Öland with good bikes, food and accommodation at some of southern Öland's best hotels.

The bike ride is mostly on paved bike paths and country roads. A total of 10 km is on gravel roads. When it is not high season, the cycling takes place in a quiet traffic environment, but you can expect to share the roadway with tractors, motorhomes, cows and sheep.

Visit the famous Eketorps Borg or the magical Södra Udden with its large pastures for sheep, cows and deer. There is also one of Europe's best birdwatching locations and Sweden's highest lighthouse, Långe Jan. Despite tired bike legs, the 198 steps up to the lighthouse are well worth the view around the southernmost tip of Öland!

In Grönhögen you will find a charming little community with a golf course, ICA shop, café and restaurant. Take a dip in the deep, turquoise limestone quarry if you dare. Return to Gammalsbygården for another good night's sleep and a tasty three-course dinner.
