Varpan runt

Varpan runt is an easy bike ride north of Falun that goes through the old mountain village around Lake Varpan. The tour takes about 1-2 hours at a leisurely pace and is suitable for both families and those who want to combine cycling with culture and swimming.

Along the trail you will pass several bathing areas and places with interesting cultural history. One of the stops is the village Österå, which previously had several copper smelters and is part of Falun World Heritage Site and Kopparbergslagen. With its beautiful location by the lake, Österå has since the early 1900s been called for "Falun's Saint Tropez". A recommended stop in the summer for coffee and swimming is at Gullnäsgården.
