Mellersta Sverigeleden takes you through the coastal landscape of Medelpad, Hälsingland and Gästrikland with fishing villages and ironworks from the 17th century. The deep forests and traditions of Dalarna take you west towards the Norwegian border.
On this route, you'll experience much of Sweden's soul, from the forests and lakes of Värmland and Dalsland, through historic Bergslagen and the agricultural landscape of Östergötland. The journey continues through Södermanland with its castles and lakes straight into Sweden's capital - Stockholm. The journey then winds through the fertile landscape of Västergötland and ends in the west in the coastal city of Gothenburg with a perfect blend of west coast nature and cultural heritage.
Approximately 20% of the Central Sweden Route is on roads with moderate to high speeds and moderate traffic volumes.
