The terrain at Hälleberg is hilly, and the St. Olavlsleden trail runs through the villages of Kluk, Bleckåsen and Semlan, where there used to be a copper smelter. Today, Mörsil attracts with Kretsloppshuset, a green oasis with gardens and food prepared from local ingredients. Near the church is Römmen's homestead, and in the area there are traces of a 17th-century redoubt.
You cycle along Lake Liten, known for its rich fishing, with bathing places in Stålsviken and Havsdoan, before reaching Järpen, the central town in the area. The road west offers beautiful views and passes the church ruins in Slagsån and Undersåker church. A pilgrim center has been built at Hållandsgården, with a stave church in grayed wood from 1999. The family hotel offers guided tours and concerts.
The trail continues past an Olavskälla spring and the mighty Ristafallet, a 14 meter high waterfall. You then cycle over the heights above Undersåker, with panoramic views of Renfjället and Åreskutan, and on to Brattland. You make your way through farmland along the Såå byway towards Åre, an alpine center for hiking and skiing with a wide range of restaurants, hotels and shops. Åre also offers indoor water parks and a swimming area on Lake Åre. In the village church from the end of the 12th century, you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and see a statue of St. Olav wearing a Carolingian hat.
Reindeer husbandry has deep roots in the valley. Today there are four active Sami villages in Åre municipality. South Sámi handicraft is known for its round shapes and zigzag patterns, and at Åre Hemslöjd you can find Sámi handicraft from all over the country, including knives and jewelry. Thomasson's farm, where reindeer herder and photographer Nils Thomasson settled with his family in 1916, was an important meeting place for the Sami. Strategies to strengthen Sami rights and increase understanding of reindeer husbandry were often discussed here. At Indalsälven you are met by green farmland with roots from the Iron Age. The trail continues west towards Duved, where a path runs along Tegeforsen. In the center of the village is Duved's church, a wooden building reminiscent of a Gothic cathedral.
