You cycle through a beautiful agricultural landscape. In Sul is the old St. Olavskällan, about 500 meters from the trail. There are several accommodations to choose from. In Sul you will also find Olavsåkern, which according to legend was trampled by Olav's army on the way to the battle of Stiklestad. When the inhabitants of Sul complained about the damage, Olav rode around the field on his horse. The next morning, the grain had risen again and yielded a bountiful harvest, which laid the foundation for the myth of Olav.
The trail continues along Karl Johansvägen down towards the village of Vuku, where you can visit a beautiful church from 1655. You then approach Stiklestad, where a stone church stands on the site where Olav was killed on July 29, 1030 in the battle against the peasant army. Behind the altar in the church is a stone with a pit, which, according to legend, appeared when Olav leaned his head against it in his last moments. Stiklestad also has a cultural center that serves as a central point for activities and information about Olav Haraldson and St Olav. If possible, plan your cycling so that you pass Stiklestad around July 29. Several activities and theatrical performances dedicated to St. Olav are organized then.
