Nynäsleden

The Nynäs Trail runs from central Stockholm through the beautiful Södertörn (peninsula south of Stockholm between Södertälje, Nynäshamn and Dalarö) and all the way to Nynäshamn. Stop along the road and enjoy wonderful scenery, rune stones, fine bathing lakes, and historic landscapes.

The Nynäsleden trail runs between City Hall in Stockholm and the tourist office in Nynäshamn. If you start from Stockholm, continue cycling over Gamla Stan, Fjällgatan and Vita Bergen on Södermalm, towards Globen, Gamla Enskede, Drevviken (with several bathing places), Lissma, Ådran, Västerby, Grödby, Väggarö, Ösmo, Söderbyd and Norsbol down towards Nynäshamn . It is a cycle path with a lot of variety, and relatively easy to pedal. The Swedish Cycling Association has developed the route of the trail and put up all signs along the Nynäsleden trail.

If you want to take a detour to Utö, you can take the Waxholmsbåten from Nynäshamn to Ålö (bike on board as far as possible) and cycle Ålö-Utö with overnight stay at the hostel, to take Waxholmsbåt back to the mainland via Gruvbryggan-Årsta bridge.

Bikes may be taken free of charge, subject to space, however a maximum of two per bus.

Stockholm Public Transport (SL)
Bikes may be included on the commuter trains, but not at rush hour, at. o6.00 - 09.00 and 15.00 - 18.00. Bringing a bike is free. Bicycles are not allowed to Arlanda C, Stockholm C, via the entrance at Odenplan to the Stockholm Odenplan station or on Stockholm County buses. read more here
