The Kattegat trail is marked with red signs along the road.

From Helsingborg you cycle north, passing Sofiero Castle and the long, beautiful beaches at Domsten and Viken. The trail runs along the water, and the view of a glittering Sound is magical to say the least.

The Kattegat trail begins - or ends - in one of the Nordic region's oldest cities, Helsingborg.

The first stretch takes you from the city center to Gröningen and Fria bad, two popular bathing places that attract with ice cream, sun and swimming. Sit down and enjoy for a while, because soon the trail's first uphill will come. A little further ahead are Sofiero Castle and Sofiero Farm, with a farm shop and café, both of which are well worth a visit.

The trail continues north and passes small picturesque fishing villages and marinas such as Domsten and Viken. Just outside the Bay, you can make a detour to the Emergency Preparedness Museum, Sweden's only museum housed in a preserved underground defense facility from World War II.
Cycle on towards Höganäs and enjoy the view over the Sound before you reach Kvickbadet, just south of Höganäs harbor.
