The Kattegat trail is marked with red signs along the road.

Here you cycle along the coast, through woodland and over agricultural landscapes, through small communities and in an urban environment. The trail is slightly hilly where it follows small roads and cycle paths as well as busy roads.

North of Varberg, the landscape changes - sandy beaches become cliffs and the first islands begin to appear: Getterön, Balgö and Vendelsö. The trail takes you down to Bua harbor, a fishing village where you can try the delicacies of the sea.

Through Frillesås, the trail goes in mixed traffic and then continues on the old embankment where you can enjoy a car-free stretch along the coast. Stop at one of the sea baths in Åsa, have an ice cream in the café or an afternoon coffee at the bakery.

Make a detour to Tjolöholm's castle, Sweden's only castle in Tudor style. You continue cycling along fields and horse farms. Stop at Rolfsbron in Hanhals, a beautiful stone arch bridge from the 17th century. In Kungsbacka, the trail runs through the city, which is one of Western Sweden's largest trading places.
