Kungsbacka – Göteborg
The Kattegattleden between Kungsbacka and Gothenburg offers beautiful nature experiences. Before you meet Gothenburg's bustling city life, you cycle along the sea among cliffs and marinas.
The Kattegat trail continues along the Kungsbackafjord. At the Boat and Maritime Museum, just below the church in Onsala, you can find out all about "Lasse i Gatan", the king's hijacker Lars Gathenhielm, who was born in 1689.
In Särö, royalty and the Gothenburg Society enjoyed themselves during the last century. Make a detour to Särö Västerskog where you can walk along the sea. Once you have left the seaside resort, you cycle on the old Säröbanan embankment that runs along the sea. Cliffs, lush forest, coves and marinas line your way and there are plenty of bathing spots here.
Closer to Gothenburg, the trail passes Nya Varvet, the cliff's cultural reserve and Röda Stens Konsthall. At Järntorget you turn towards Gothenburg city, pass the picnic-friendly Kungsparken and Stora Teatern.
The last stretch goes along Trädgårdsföreningen, one of Europe's best-preserved 19th century parks, before you reach the final destination on Drottningtorget at Central Station.
