For hundreds of years, the fire has burned hot in the glassworks of Småland. In small villages surrounded by forests and lakes, a unique craft tradition emerged - glass blowing. Everything from simple everyday glass to works of art that became world famous were made here. It was a hard and often grueling day, but also filled with pride in a profession that required both precision and creativity.

Glassworks became the hub of many communities. They provided work, attracted artists and put place names like Kosta, Boda and Orrefors on the world map. In the heat of the glassworks, both function and beauty were born - often with recycled glass, local sand and skilled craftsmanship as the basis. Families lived their lives around the mills, generation after generation, in villages that vibrated with life, the smell of wood and glowing furnaces.

Today, many of the glassworks are closed, but the traces remain in buildings, stories and in the soul of the Småland landscape. The Glassblower's Trail takes you through this rich history on two wheels. Here you cycle not only through beautiful nature, but also through the stories of the people, fire and glass art that once shaped an entire landscape. Welcome to the Kingdom of Glass, in the heart of Småland!
